Dear Sirs,

It was a great shock for us to hear of the terrible event with Shuttle

Columbia of 1st February, 2003. We would like to express deepest grief and

heartleft sympathy to you.

We hope that the day of 1st February, 2003 will never repeat in the space

exploration history. We wish that courage, solidarity and mutual aid, the

main features of American nation, will help you to stand up in such a hard

time.

Sincerely Yours,

Maxim Zubrilov

Tributes to the crew of both orbiters. Mankind seeks to unlock Natures secrets: a noble and honorable endeavour. Nature however only grudgingly gives up its secrets (perhaps to increase our sense of achievement when we do actually get the answers.

Our respect for our astronauts increases woth the knowledge that these people understood the risks involved and actually opted in.

May the almighty rest their souls in peace.

The evening when I first saw the space shuttle in flames in mid air... I was shocked... knowing indian born Kalpana Chawla was part of the mission I was worried... every second the debries aproached the earth I lost the hope to see Kalpana returning home. It was a sad evening for me. From then till today, whenever I remember you Kalpana, my heart crys for you, my throat choaks, tears drop on my chicks.... for, I am proud of you.. your inspirational courage and fighting sprit that fetched you such heights that only a few could dream of. I remember you Kalpana .... more than ever... You are my hero... and will always be. - Shashank jadhav.
